Richard Braithwaite is a multiple award winning teacher, coach, and theatre director.
Besides his numerous teaching awards, he has been named Director of the Year and Coach of the Year
by the Georgia High School Athletic Association. A professional writer himself, Mr. Braithwaite
knows how to teach reading and writing to young people. More importantly, Mr. Braithwaite can
quickly come to an understanding of how a student's mind works and how to reach him. Braithwaite
is one of those rare teachers who forms deep bonds with students that last a lifetime.
His former students and colleagues describe him as inspirational. They also describe him as kind,
understanding, thoughtful, and humorous.
The coaching and directing side of his training taught Mr. Braithwaite how to motivate each individual
child and taught him to quickly evaluate that child's strengths and weaknesses. The teaching and writing
side taught him to understand language and to appreciate it on a deep level. All of these attributes combine,
to make him an ideal tutor.
